The brand owner’s journey

Five decisions between your idea and your first delivery.

Sampling rounds, approvals and inspection are covered elsewhere on the site. This is the strategic view: what you decide, and in what order.
  1. Start from what you have

A tech pack is welcome but not required. A reference garment you like, clear photos and a short brief — fabric feel, fit, target price — are enough to begin development.

  2. Agree the product before the branding

Fabric, construction and fit are developed and sampled first. Labels and packaging go onto a garment that is already right, not onto one they have to rescue.

  3. Approve a sealed sample

Nothing enters bulk until you approve the sample in writing. That sealed sample is what the line is measured against and what inspection checks before packing.

  4. Put your identity on the garment

Brand, size and care labels, hang tags and polybag presentation follow your placement and packing specification; screen printing, other print methods and embroidery carry artwork on the garment itself.

  5. Repeat without drift

The sealed sample and measurement sheet stay on file, so the second production run is built to the same reference as the first — the whole point of owning a label.

What private label includes

Not a catalogue with your logo on it.

Private label is often sold as picking a stock garment and adding a label. We work the other way round: the product is developed to your specification, and the branding goes onto a garment that is already yours.
  • Custom garment development

Your product, built to your specification rather than adapted from a catalogue.

  • Fabric sourcing

Fabric selected against your quality, hand-feel and price targets.

  • Pattern development

Patterns graded to your size set and fit comments.

  • Sample development

Development, fit and pre-production samples before bulk is released.

  • Labels

Your brand, size and care labels applied to your placement specification.

  • Hang tags

Hang tags attached to your artwork and placement instructions.

  • Polybags & folding

Folding and bagging to the presentation standard you specify.

  • Inspection

Checked against the sealed sample before packing is signed off.

  • Printing

Screen printing and other print methods, matched to your artwork and fabric.

  • Embroidery

Embroidered logos and artwork, approved on the sealed sample.

Choosing a route

Private label, custom or OEM?

The three overlap, and many projects combine them. The difference is where you start and what you want the factory to own.
How private label, custom and OEM manufacturing differ
RouteYou start withBest when
Private labelA product idea, a reference garment or a style you want developed and branded as your own.You want a finished range under your brand, with development support from the factory.
Custom manufacturingA specific design you control in detail — fit, fabric, construction. The garment itself is your point of difference, not only the label on it.
OEMA complete tech pack, an approved sample or an existing repeat style. You already own the specification and need accurate, repeatable production.

The private label workflow

From your idea to packed cartons.

Each stage has a decision to confirm before the next one starts. Nothing enters bulk until you have approved the sample it will be built against.
  1. 01

    Idea or tech pack

Send a tech pack, a reference garment or simply a description of what you want made.

  2. 02

    Development

We translate the brief into a working specification and identify what needs to be decided.

  3. 03

    Fabric & trim selection

Fabric quality, colour and trims are selected and confirmed against your target price.

  4. 04

    Sample

A first sample is produced to the agreed specification.

  5. 05

    Revisions

Your comments are applied and revised samples are issued.

  6. 06

    Approval

You approve the sealed sample. It becomes the reference for the bulk run.

  7. 07

    Bulk production

Production runs against the sealed sample and the agreed delivery plan.

  8. 08

    Quality control

Measurement, workmanship and finishing checks through and after the run.

  9. 09

    Branding & packaging

Your labels, tags and packaging are applied to your packing specification.

  10. 10

    Dispatch

Cartons are prepared, verified and handed over for collection or shipment.

Who we produce for

Built for buyers who own the product.

  • Fashion & lifestyle brands

Producing an owned range instead of reselling a supplier’s stock designs.

  • Growing brands

Moving from buying finished stock to production runs developed to their own specification.

  • Retailers & wholesalers

Adding an own-label line alongside the brands they already carry.

  • Corporate buyers

Branded staff garments that must look identical order after order.

Questions

Private label, answered plainly.

What brand owners ask before starting a project.

Do you manufacture private-label garments?

Yes. Private-label production — your brand, your labels, your packaging on a garment developed to your specification — is what the factory is set up for.

Can a new brand work with you?

Yes, when the order is a genuine production run. We develop from a reference garment or brief and document the specification with you, but we are not a small-batch or print-on-demand workshop. Tell us your intended quantity per style and colour and we will say plainly whether it suits our lines.

Do I keep the rights to my designs and branding?

Yes. Designs, artwork, trademarks and tech packs you send remain yours, are used only to evaluate and produce your order, and are treated as commercially confidential. We are happy to sign a mutual NDA before development.

Do you supply the labels and tags, or do I?

Either. You can ship your own labels, tags and packaging for us to apply, or we can arrange them against your artwork — sourcing of branded trims is confirmed per project during costing.

What is your minimum order quantity for private label?

It depends on the product, fabric and number of colours, so it is confirmed per enquiry rather than published as a number that would be wrong half the time. Our minimum order guide explains what drives it.
